Must of Christ is spoken of in verses 17-18. In order to see the text rightly, the truth that Christ came to earth and that He preached a very specific message must be highlighted. The message that Christ preached is the gospel of peace. It is the very gospel that in it includes His coming to earth, living a perfect life, dying on a cross, and rising from the grave. The gospel is what sets forth all the blessings and promises that remain in chapter 2. With that in mind, Christians today need to be reminded of the wonderful truths that are said here of the gospel.
