Ephesians 3:1-3

Continuing his dissertation on the Jew and the Gentile come together, Paul shifts slightly to see the result of that reality. He is a prisoner in Rome because of his faithfulness in preaching that Gentiles are now grafted into the family of God. This did not sit well with the Jews, yet Paul did not fix his focus on being in prison in Rome or because it was the Jews who sent him there. His focus is on being a prisoner in Christ. In so doing, he recalls that he is a steward of the grace of God whether he is in prison or a free man. This all comes together because God had revealed the mystery to him. God works in every circumstance, and Paul can persevere because God continues to work regardless of where a child of His may find himself.
