Paul continues his discourse on the Trinitarian fellowship with the Son and the Father. The intention and focus remains on the word 'one.' These verses speak to unity in the church as the church is grounded in one Lord, the Lord Jesus Christ, and one faith that is rooted in Him. All believers are baptized in Christ, in other words, every Christian is identified in Christ. No longer are we our own, but we are bought with a price. The all-consuming nature of God is seen in His overwhelming presence in the church. There is no escaping Him. What this means for the church is because He sees, knows, and hears all things, the church is not exempt and therefore, my actions, thoughts, and intentions toward my brothers and sisters are known by God. The church must live knowing that God is in her midst.
