Ephesians 5:15-16

Paul continues in his discourse giving the action that corresponds with verses 11-14. He points out several things. One being the careful looking or examining of the Christian walk, another having this careful watch be in a wise way, yet, another being that one way to do so is by redeeming the current time, and he gives the reason for all these things being that the days are evil. What stands out is the care and concern of Paul for believers in Jesus to actually walk as Jesus walked. This time, the fourth walk that Paul has mentioned, he articulates it in the most personal of ways. How so? Every Christian is to examine his/her own walk with Christ and ensure that utmost care is taken so that he/she does not waver to the left or the right as he already mentioned that we are prone to do at times. The time that we spend on this earth matters greatly to God. Therefore, Paul says, as inspired by the Holy Spirit to maximize, or make the most of every moment that God gives to you while you have the breath of life. Why the emphasis? Because every person will give an account of the way that he/she lived. This is true of, both, Christian and non-Christian alike (Hebrews 4:13, 1 Peter 4:5). What a visible outlook to the world that promotes time wasting in the most egregious of ways to utilitze every moment and situation (Paul and Silas in prison singing hymns, Jesus on the cross saving a sinner, etc.) to the glory of God.
