Paul returns to the prayer that he was going to offer to God in verse 1. Here, Paul gives us the way that he prays which is quite different from the other Pauline prayers that offer the contents. In Paul we see his complete subjection to God and his humility. He doesn't pray in prison because he has nothing better to do, but he prays because it is the best thing for him to do. The same is true for believers today. It must not be said of us that we pray because we must or because there is nothing better to do. Yet, it must be true of us that we pray because it is of the chiefest privilege. In Christ, (Paul's two favorite words in Ephesians) we believers have the opportunity and joy to come before our Heavenly Father and brings our cares to Him.
