Paul gets to the specifics as to how Christians are to live. He commands the believers in Ephesus (and the church) to live lives of humility, gentleness, patience, forbearance (bearing with one another), and diligence. All these things are non-negotiables for the Christian, and in the local church it is imperative that we look for these traits in our brothers and sisters. Paul reminds us that this is all done for one purpose, which he will ultimately carry out until verse 16, that is unity. Christians churches ought to be the epicenter and example to the world of what true unity looks like. This doesn't mean that Christians are perfect, but it means that we seek the betterment of one another and not to ourselves. Verses 2 and 3 have much to say about daily practical living of the Christian.
